Equine Meniscal Injuries: A Retrospective Study of 14 Horses

Ultrasound provides a reliable, non-invasive diagnostic modality for the diagnosis of equine meniscal injuries. Meniscal injuries should be suspected in horses with severe hind limb lameness and prominent stifle effusion. Uniaxial degenerative changes seen radiographically should also be considered suspicious for meniscal injury.
